Welcome to Counselling in Vancouver
Hello and welcome. My name is Nazanin Moghadami and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with more than 7 years of experience working in the mental health field in Vancouver.Queer counselling in Vancouver
If you're here, you are probably looking to speak with a counsellor or a therapist. Normally, we all have various coping mechanisms and solid life skills that make it possible for us to handle our lives and deal with what comes our way. There are times, however, that you might feel as though certain areas of your life might seem out of control, or feel too painful, or intolerable- you might feel that your normal coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills are not enough anymore. You want the pain to stop, the arguments to cease, or the unsettled feeling to come to rest. More often than not, that's when folks reach out to seek professional help or counselling.
It will be my mission to help you find stability and regain the sense of control in your life. I hope I can help you find relief or a break from what you're experiencing. For long-lasting results, we might also start getting to know the root causes of your struggle and work together towards gaining a deep feeling of well-being. At the same time, please remember that counselling does not provide a fast & easy way; it takes commitment, consistency and hard work. It would be my honor to work with you in your journey if you are ready to put in the work and move through what you are facing (and perhaps have been facing for some time now).
It is my belief that each person has all the answers they need, and as a counsellor, I will help and support you to tap into your inner wisdom and reconnect with what is missing. While I do my best to help you find what works for you, I don't give advice or offer solutions. I work primarily in Vancouver with some limited times available in North Vancouver, and provide counselling both in Farsi and English. The following are some of the topics that we might discuss in our sessions:
- Interpersonal and relationship issues
- Grief & loss
- Sadness & depression
- Stress & anxiety
- Separation and relationship breakup
- Gender and sexuality exploration/questioning
- Adjustment to new life circumstances
- Cutting, suicide & other coping habits
- Personal development & growth
- Difficult memories or experiences
- Trauma and abuse
- Self-esteem and self-confidence
- Relationships with family members, partners and family of choice
